Other month is gone and that means that Sara and I have read other Harry Potter book. If you don’t know I joined Sara in her Potter Challenge. Each month we read a Harry Potter book for the first time and then we write a post about something related.

It is the middle of the summer, but there is an unseasonal mist pressing against the windowpanes. Harry Potter is waiting nervously in his bedroom at the Dursleys’ house in Privet Drive for a visit from Professor Dumbledore himself. One of the last times he saw the Headmaster was in a fierce one-to-one duel with Lord Voldemort, and Harry can’t quite believe that Professor Dumbledore will actually appear at the Dursleys’ of all places. Why is the Professor coming to visit him now? What is it that cannot wait until Harry returns to Hogwarts in a few weeks’ time? Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts has already got off to an unusual start, as the worlds of Muggle and magic start to intertwine…
I really really enjoyed this book!
Things I liked:
—> We get to know more about Voldemort
—> Some relationships are starting
—> Jealousy, because being honest, it was fun.
—> The first chapters weren’t from Harry’s POV and that let us see the magical world as a whole
Things I didn’t like that much:
—> Harry frustrating me over Drako, it was annoying.
. Ugh! I was so confused about Snape all time, was he good or bad? And never saw coming that he was the Half-Blood Prince, that was a surprise.
I was so sad to what happened with Dumbledore ♥
TONKS & LUPIN. OMG I ship them SO much. Seriously, I fangirl over their couple a lot It was soo great the moment Tonks shouts at Lupin because Fleur & Bill are the example to be together I was like ‘Boom Lupin, Go Tonks!’ Though I had thought of that ship and loved them, the confirmation was amazing and then at the end when they are together ♥ Also, Fleur back in the book was a surpirse, I didn’t expect to see her again.
I ship Ginny and Harry too! It was so great to see Harry fall in love and being jealous. Just great.
Hermione and Ron were so frustrating because they made each other jealous but god, stop and be together. I have to mention that it was so much fun when Ron drank the love potion and was madly in love with Romilda. I liked Hermione a lot more in this book.
Seeing Fred and George with their own shop was really cool too!!
Lastly, the Horrocruxes were really cool but at the same time creepy because of what you have to do, but the idea is super original and clever.
For this month Sara and I thought it would be a great idea talking about Horrocruxes.
- “Of the Horcrux, wickedest of magical inventions, we shall not speak nor give direction “
- —Magick Moste Evile
A Horcrux is a powerful object in which a Darkwizard or witch has hidden a fragment of his or her soul for the purpose of attaining immortality. Creating one Horcrux gave one the ability to anchor one’s own soul to earth if the body was destroyed. The more Horcruxes one created, the closer one was to true immortality. Creating multiple Horcruxes was suggested to be costly to the creator, by both diminishing their humanity and even physically disfiguring them.
To create a Horcrux you have to kill people, that way the soul ‘breaks’ and you can contain parts in different objects.
This was a very interesting concept and idea. It’s horrorific and awful we know that but how cool would it be to say which objects we would choose as our Horocruxes?
I don’t plan to murder anyone or really have Horocruxes, don’t worry.
This is quite a complex question because the objects I would choose have to be really really important.
One has to be a book. Not sure which book but it has to be one. This is because books are a big part and an important one of my life. They have changed me and brought me so many opportunities and new hobbies. Oh! Or maybe a bookmark, never mind, it’s a book related thing so it counts.
Other one would have to be something related to swimming. Maybe some glasses or swimsuit. Swimming is one of my passions and favourite sport. It’s just a way to relax or let all the feelings go away, so calm in the water. I just love it.
If I had to say a third and last one, I think I would say my castanets, but I’m not sure about this one.
Let me know: Have you read this book? What did you think? Any object you would choose as a Horocrux?
